| | | | We have been busy integrating the Discovery Bus with cloud computing resources, initially with Amazon and then Micorsoft's Azurein a collaboration with colleague Paul Watson of Newcastle University and Microsoft research.
The integration with Amazon was relatively straightforward and now means that we have packaged Discovery Bus Master server machines and Worker Server machines as EC2 images. Not only does this give us acccess to On Demand computing for carrying out coompute intensive oeprations, it means that deployment of the Discovery Bus is very easy.
The Azure integration has been via the Inkspot Science Scientific Software Hosting platform, and gives us new access, not only to Azure computations, but also virtual teams, security, workflow based automation and ease of use and deployment. The work on Azure integration will continue and support the coming MOAQ project discussed elsewhere.
